Quality of Life Hackathon
About the Hackathon
In partnership with AARP Foundation and Nex Cubed, the HBCU Founders Initiative hosted the Quality of Life Hackathon where founders submitted their startup idea that addressed one of the listed challenges perpetuating the wealth gap in our county.
10 teams were chosen to participate in the Hackathon, which was held on November 6th, 2021.
The first place team received a $5,000 credit toward building a minimum viable product (MVP) and customer development.
Teams were also invited to present their company at the November 12th, 2021 Cultivate Pitch Competition: Closing the Wealth Gap sponsored by AARP Innovation Labs, Mastercard, and Franklin Templeton where $45k in cash and prizes were awarded.
